Catherine is a relatively new citizen of Bathurst and is running independently in the 2021 Bathurst Council Elections. She describes herself as a “right leaning libertarian” as her values align to both sides of the spectrum.
Having lived in Bathurst for ten months, Catherine says, “you can live somewhere for 30 years and not be involved at all or be here only a short time and involve yourself a lot.”
Catherine has a plethora of academic achievements and is currently half-way through her studies for a Doctor of Public Safety at Charles Sturt University Bathurst. Mrs Strods successfully runs two businesses; a sauce and condiment small business as well as NACOR consulting, based in Melbourne.
A few areas Catherine wishes to focus on with her independent ticket are buy local programs, LGBTQIA+ community support, mental health education and support, economic sustainability and to empower the underemployed. Responsible government spending is also on her agenda to improve.
